Design of the HP Spectre x360 16

The HP Spectre x360 16 boasts a stylish design available in the eye-catching Nocturne Blue, featuring elegant cerulean accents that beautifully outline the laptop. In our standardized battery test, where a 4K video file is looped until the battery depletes, the laptop achieved a recorded endurance of five hours and 17 minutes. While this result may not be exceptional, it aligns with expectations, considering the demanding aspects of my review unit – a high-resolution 4K display and Nvidia discrete graphics – which undoubtedly put the 83 watt-hour battery to a challenging test.

Real-world usage corroborates the test findings. Placing the 2-in-1 on a desk and engaging in occasional web browsing might yield a more impressive eight or nine hours of endurance. However, during my regular work activities, which primarily involve word processing and occasional photo editing, the laptop provided approximately six hours of battery life.

Maintenance on the HP Spectre x360 16

To access the internal components of the Spectre x360 16, as there is no maintenance hatch, the baseplate needs to be removed. In comparison to earlier Spectre models, the disassembly process is relatively straightforward, eliminating the need to search for hidden screws beneath rubber strips on the laptop’s underside. Only the four visible screws require removal, and the bottom cover can be detached using a flat spatula, with a recommendation to start near the hinges. Once opened, users gain access to the PCIe 3 SSD, WLAN module, fans, speakers, and the battery. This simplified disassembly method complements ease of maintenance compared to previous Spectre fashions.

Software and Warranty on the HP Spectre x360 16

HP continues its tradition of pre-installing a variety of apps on its laptops, although the Spectre x360 16 exhibits a more restrained approach compared to previous Spectre models.
